I am using tinyMCE with the youtube plug in and it works until you edit.

I setup a input format that is blank.

The problem is if you go back to a post and edit, it completely removes the youtube video.

To test I made a post with just a video.
Worked
Did a edit and when I press submit it says the Body is required. I see the video when I am doing the edit.

this would be better served as an issue report against the offending module. In this case, I can't be sure which one that would be. to diagnose further, turn off tinymce and see if editing a node still removes the vid. If so, then its an issue for the embedding module you are using, if the problem resolves itself without tinymce enabled, then it would be a tinymce issue.

It does not remove the code with tinyMCE disabled.

Have you tried enabling the flash button in the tinymce config setup pages (the flash button is the one with the funny curvy f) ... no idea if this will fix the problem but you never know :)

That was a good idea, but did not work.

Just wanted to state here that with TinyMCE's Flash button enabled that I'm able to insert Youtube videos in TinyMCE. This is with the Verify HTML option enabled too.

Without the Flash button enabled the embed scripts get yanked out when TinyMCE is loaded.

There's an option with TinyMCE that does "code cleanup" or "HTML cleanup" or something similar. Try disabling that. Without digging for it myself... I can't remember exactly where it is... but if I remember correctly I think it's in the section where you're setting up your toolbars.

I think I ran into a similar experience when embedding a simpleviewer into a TinyMCE box under joomla. So, long story > short, it's a TinyMCE configuration issue. I think that option should fix your problem.

If is almost fixed. the option I changed was under "Cleanup and output" Verify HTML:False.

Now when I edit i can type next to a video and save it BUT if i press enter to start a new paragraph the words stay but the video goes.

There is now a updated version that addresses the Drupal problems of the youtube TinyMCE plug in.
